My latest page...

is actually my favorite page, and not just for the scrapping, the picture is so awesome!
This is my Katie girl, and another of her "self portraits" she is so famous for taking! I edited the picture to make it black and white with the hydrangea in purple. For this page, I was trying to make the picture of course the focal point.. it was printed in 8.5 x11 size. The layout is 12x12. I used Doublemates black cardstock, prima flowers, brads, and doodled. The paint is MM. The title " I can only Imagine" was taken from the song by Mercy Me. Katie is a member of His Hands and Feet Ministry at our church. They learn modern sign language and movement to contemporary Christian songs, and this song was the first they did, and above all our favorite. Thinking of the words... "I can only imagine... what it will be like, when I walk by Your side....I can only imagine what my eyes will see when Your face is before me....I can only imagine." Looking at this picture, I can see her thinking these things, and seeing how engrossed she is with praising God, it makes me the happiest mom in the world!

COOKIES!!!

As I sit here eating cookies, I wonder....

What is your favorite type of cookie??? I have a new fave.... mint oreos! YUM YUM YUM!

These are the days....

of my life! The days seem to run together here anymore. I get up, get the kids off to school, go through my daily routine of cleaning, laundry, catching up on my internet groups, chatting on the phone..... then they come home and the night begins. Baseball or softball depending on the day of the week.

My life is boring... so monotonous.. the same. No wonder I get in a funk here and there. I feel it coming on now, and hence the reason for me writing about it... sometimes I can stop it if I acknowledge it. This week the schedule changes. Both of my parents are having surgery this week. I pray that everything goes according to plan and they all come out well. Dad is first. His is tomorrow at 8am. I can't be there and that is very depressing to me. I don't like to let my parents go through stuff like this without being there. But I have to be here to get the kids off to school. Mom's is Thursday. I am going to ask the kid's dad to take the afternoon off work so I can go with her. Her's is late afternoon. She has never had surgery before, and I know she is a bit nervous.

Friday... if all goes well with mom and dad, I get to go to an all day crop!!! YAY! I took the weekend off from work, and get to go to the Saturday crop as well!! I so need this time off from work, and just time to be away and be me and do what I love so very much!

So, with winter and cold weather coming, so will the "funk" as I call it. That seasonal type depression. I HATE it.... but I refuse to be on medication. I can whip this, and having this blog here to help me journal my thoughts, well, that will help a lot!!! SO... funk funk go away, don't come back ANY day!!!

Karma??

You Have Good Karma
In general, you like to do the right thing when it comes to others.Your caring personality really shines through.Sure, you have your moments of weakness - and occasionally act out. But, all in all, you're karma is good... even with those few dark spots.

Ok, so I did the quiz, but in general I do not believe in Karma per se. I do somewhat believe in "what goes around, comes around" theory, but in the sense of you are blessed by your blessing of others. I believe in God, and if I follow Him and His will for me, then I will be truly blessed. My reward will come from Heaven. If I choose not to believe and have faith and follow His word, then yes, I believe what comes around goes around, and my eternity will not be spent in heaven... plain and simple.

FRIENDSHIP!

What a great challenge to have us talk about!!!

What does friendship mean to me? It means the WORLD! I have many different friends from all over the place! 2 of my bestest friends live at least 8 hours away!!! I have another really good friend who lives up the street. Then there are all my internet friends!!!

Every one of my friends have different personalities and different points of view on life. They all offer me different things that help me see the world in all different perspectives. All together I really don't know if we could all co-exist as one big happy group, but that's ok by me. I get to be the part of me that I need with each of these friends!

Personally, I think everyone needs at least one good friend. You need someone to share things with, and vent with, and hopefully share some common hobbies with!

So far behind...

in the blog challenges over at Scraplovers, so I am starting fresh!!! Here's an update on me and my world!

First of all, things have been super busy around here! Timothy is doing...well... let's just say it... CRAPPY in school this year? Why? I haven't a clue. Not paying attention, not completing his work, not handing in what IS completed, and then talking. Uggh! he has spent a week being grounded, and I am HOPING this has helped! He got his progress report for the first half of this quarter, and most of his grades were good, except for writing, and then conduct was bad. I sent a note with him today to find out how the past week has been since he has been grounded. I hope she replies! He is also playing baseball. He started out really loving it. Now? I am not so sure. I think he is just ready for the season to be done! Last night, I practically had to DRAG him out of the car! He was nervous and therefore nauseated! Scared of getting hit with the ball he said. Well, guess what happened last night? He was up at bat and got hit buy the freaking ball! After the game, he said it wasn't so bad, and he is ready to go back next week for more! So hopefully having his worst fear realized, he will be ok now!

Katie? Well, she's as busy as ever. Still playing softball. She is having a GREAT season... herself personally, not so much the entire team! LOL She is getting great hits, and has been playing 2nd and 3rd base! Monday night she boogered up her knee pretty bad sliding into 3rd. (she was oooooouuuuutttttttttttttttt! LOL) It is swollen and bruised, but better today... she wants to play tonight. We will see.... She also is having fall workout practices for high school softball. She is participating in the choir at church and is in practices for the Christmas Concert. She has to sing a solo at church on Ovtober 29. I'm off work that weekend! YAY!!! She is also trying out for the Quartets in school chorus. The 2nd round of tryouts is Friday... so we shall see! Umm... I think that is it for her for now!!

Me? Well, I am working as usual. Nothing really new here... still scrapping as much as possible! wait till you see the September layouts when I update my slideshow!! There are lots! SO, that's us!

I did it!!!

Katie took this pitcure of herself... she's the queen of self portraits!!! I have been wanting to edit it since she did it, and I finally did!!! This is my first attempt at photo editing, and I did it with an OLD version of Microsoft Picture It! Hmm... makes me wonder what I could do with a better version? Anyway, had to share this! I also entered this photo in a contest over at Lil Davis Designs! Check it out if you haven't! I know I don't have a snowballs chance in you-know-where, but this was fun! http://www.lildavisdesigns.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1&virtuemart=eb366af09e0b087b7244d6208c767778

My Weekend

My weekend was spent as every weekend is spent... at work. Here is a picture of WakeMed. From this picture you can see the main entrance and part of the Heart Center. WakeMed is the biggest hospital in Wake County, and has the only freestanding Children's ED in the state! Pretty impressive, huh? I like it here. I should hope so, as I have been working there for 17 years. I thought when I first started working there I wouldn't be there long. I was "too good" to work at the "county hospital," and the only reason I worked there at all was because they paid for me to go to school and I had to "pay" them back by working for them for 2 years. I fell in love... I really began to enjoy working there. As the years have gone by, the hospital has grown by leaps and bounds. It's reputation has significantly improved. While we still takes care of the largest number of indigent patients, WakeMed is #1 in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, and several other areas. We just had our JCAHO review a few weeks ago, and I am proud to say we were described as EXCELLENT! So, on any given weekend, this is where you will find me! I have done the weekend shift for over 14 years now, I don't see me changing any time soon!

What scrapbooking paper are You?

Ok, I know I have taken this quiz before... but I don't think I got the same response this time as I did before. Interesting to see how you change as your style changes!!! So, here I am... eat your heart out Erin!! LOL And...everyone, take this quiz, and report back to me what paper YOU are!!!

  • You are CHATTERBOX paper! You enjoy being a social butterfly and tend sometimes to think of scrapbooking more as a social event! When at a crop you might find yourself talking more than scrapping! But that's okay, when you do do a page it is bright and sunny just like your personality!

    Check it out!

So, i had to go out and get gas tonight, and I saw this and nearly peed my pants! How great is that? And... how SAD is it that I think paying $2.59 a gallon for gas is great? Will it ever get back to normal? And, what is normal? I kept thinking before we would never get back below $3 a gallon... we did. Then i was thinking we would never get back below $2.50. This is making me wonder.. .will we? The sad thing is, we really have little to no choice. We HAVE to get places... work, grocery store, etc. So, we HAVE to pay the price! Makes you really wonder how far they will actually go....

So, today, I got involved in another new challenge. A picture of the day challenge. This is a challenge where you take a different photo every day. I am hoping this will help me see things I have never really truly looked at before... So to start things off.. enjoy my today's picture. The gas price sign at Sheetz!

    Well, Well, Well.....

So today's blog challenge is MUGSHOTS. So, I saw mugshots, and without really reading, I am thinking... "I do not have a decent photo of myself, I do not like photos of myself.... I will have to skip this one." Course that was only my first glance, I did read the entire challenge and well... hee hee hee... MUG... like your favorite mug. OK, so THAT sounds much better! Except for the fact that I don't HAVE a favorite mug!!! LOL I don't use a mug, and well, as long as the coffee is good, who cares what it is in right? So in honor of this challenge, I have uploaded a picture of my favorite mug... any ole styrofoam cup will do!

So now today we have all learned 2 things about me!

    1. I love to scrapbook... I am obsessed with it really! LOL
    2. I'm an idiot! LOL Who knew?
